Porter Hall was the college's first high-rise residence hall and remains the largest residence building. The nine-story building has corridor-style rooms with wellness, study, leadership, and all-female floors, as well as general coeducational floors.

History
Porter Hall was named in 1980 for Peter Buell Porter, a Buffalo pioneer, businessman, and political leader. Porter was a member of Congress in the early 1800s and a general in the War of 1812.
