Great Lakes Center

Located at the foot of Porter Avenue in Buffalo, the Great Lakes Center is an aquatic research, education, and services facility that allows students and faculty to explore the Niagara River and Lake Erie.

History

The center is unique in the SUNY system as the only facility to operate an on-shore experimental laboratory on the Great Lakes and to offer a graduate program in Great Lakes environmental studies. Buffalo State is also the only SUNY college with its own fleet of research vessels.
